Hi All,
Holly Reinhard and I saw a juvenile BLACKPOLL WARBLER at the Fields
Oasis about 4:30 to 6:30 PM on Sunday the 16th. It was very obliging
and afforded excellent views during the period of observation. We took
several photos, at least one of which Greg Gillson has posted in his
Rare Birds archive. A very nice bird. I have more details for anyone
who is interested.
The following morning, we camped near the JUNIPER TITMOUSE spot used by
the OFO Conference, west of Adel. When we awoke, I only walked a short
distance before being rewarded with decent views of the bird. Many
thanks to Tim Rodenkirk and Joel Geier for providing excellent
directions. We were well rewarded for the long drive.
The drive home via Summer Lake provided many species of ducks, both
species of YELLOWLEGS, and 3 MARBLED GODWITS, plus the more usual suspects.
Good Birding,
Karl
