Hi all,
I have recently moved to Washington but still have seen some good birds up here. In particular, I
got a nice shot from 10 feet away of a Heermann's Gull (Larus heermanni)in Sekiu and some Bald
Eagles near there were resting on a rock. Also I've heard some Great Horned (on Camano Island)
and Barred (in Olympic National Park) owls calling frequently. A real treat was a Marbled
Murrelet about 25 meters from shore at Camano Island State Park. Also interesting was a pod of
Orcas swimming past a Gray Whale without incident. Lots to see and hear!

Happy Birding!
