[ORyoungbirder] Short day Crook County Birds 6/24/07

Today I planned on taking a high ochoco mountain trip to try to find Grouse and woodpeckers for Crook County.  My trip was planned to take off at 6 am, but I ended up leaving at 7 because I got caught up looking at the first male Rufous Hummingbird I have ever seen in Central Oregon drinking from one of my feeders. Then I got to Forest Service Road 27 at about 8, and only got about 2 miles in from Hwy 26 before the road became closed by trees that had fallen over. This Saturday I will check out the road from the west side. These birds include those from my feeder and birds found at travel. During this trip I got 3 firsts of the year.
